The ParcelSave scheme is a delivery service at discounted prices through bulk buying. However producing, tracking and managing all the invoices and payments is an enourmous task when done by hand. The management system tackles this problem, saving ParcelSave time and money.
Invoice are created by importing a large csv file (comma seperated values). This csv file is imported into the database and then proccessed. This involves caclulating new prices based upon the type of delivery, wieght, extra services and delivery zone.
The system creates printable invoices, credit notes and tracks payment info. There also reporting tools which allows ParcelSave see who and what monies are owing and how overdue that money is.
The most significant benefit is how quickly invoice can be created. Instead of spending two days generating invoices by hand, invoice can be produced in less than two hours, and more accurately.
This management solution although web based is not designed for public access. It instead runs on a local intranet. By using a web based management system it means that all processing takes place centrally on the server. It also means that anyone can on that network can access the system without any additional software as the system requires just a web browser to access it.
